Coming soon, Ironbridge Wenlock Stout from the wood. We’ve got some of our loveley stout ageing in oak barrels. They’re going to be delivered to The Fighting Cocks in the next week or so by shire horse and traditional dray.

Meat raffle

Christmas Opening Times

Normal opening except the following :-

On Christmas Eve we’re open until midnight.

Christmas Day: 11 am until 2pm. All real ale £2 per pint!

New Year’s Eve: barbecue at 11pm, £5 each. No charge if you’re not having any food.

Ironbridge brewery trip

We are organising a mini-bus from the Fighting Cocks at 7pm on Tuesday 6th September. For a fee of £5 you will receive a tour of the brewery and as much beer as you like! Limited places, first come first served!

Shropshire Beer Festival

The new 32 seat cinema above the Old Fighting Cocks is now open for business. We’ve got 32 genuine cinema seats, a 5 metre screen, HD projection, Dolby Surround Sound and little tables for your drinks.

Mon-Thu open at 3pm

Fri-Sun open at 11am.

Proper cinema set to open Jan 15th

The Oakengates Picture House is due to open on 15th January 2011 with the first film being “Inception”. There has been a bit of publicity recently concerning a film club in a pub nearby. This is not anything to do with the Oakengates Picture House. We’re a proper cinema, located in the function room above The Old Fighting Cocks. With a digital projection system, a four metre screen and proper tiered cinema seating this is not just a telly in the back room of a pub showing a few videos. We don’t agree with television in the bar anyway and you’ll never see a telly in The Old Fighting Cocks.

The Oakengates Picture House is Telford’s independent cinema.
